The Tower of Iglau: QUA LUNA NESCIS
Will Jihlavians renovate the defunct feature of the phasing moon?
PALLIDA LUNA PLUIT, RUBICUNDA FLAT, ALBA SERENAT. The pale Moon rains, red winds, white serenes. The medieval saying substantiated weather forecast.
Till the times of Gustav Mahler’s youth (1860s’) the tower had borne a functional feature of a half sunken moon ball.
Why this kind of attribute? It is ancient feature on the cathedral and public astronomical clocks like in Strasbourg and Rouen.
Astronomical clocks indicated phasing of the moon like in Padova, Bologna, Olomouc, Prague, but here it is about a deep-set kind of the Lunar indicator occurring in Nürnberg, Linz, Mantua, Rouen or Dubrovnik.

Tycho Brahe and Quicksilver
Tycho Brahe is regarded as the persona extraordinaire.
After Research on Brahe’s remains in 2012 it is undisputed that not Mercury but urinary tract infection was the cause of the man's death.
Still, Tycho Brahe used 24 hour dial clocks.

Glimpse of Amsterdam
Look at the building turrets of the Central Station. The wind-4-dial with the mercurial gilded hand on the dial marked with cardinal and in between points says indirectly: "Have a good journey".
The dial signifies sea voyage and may evoke belonging to some exotic land. In a short distance, sudden contrast in ships in town and all and smell is sanctified by exalting carillon compositions. They are played on buttons by a scheduled world-class carillonneur in a spire above the town.
And here is the connection with Prague. The monumental Carillon Clock of Loreta has the set of original bells with the signature: Claudy Fremy me fecit Amsterodami AD 1686.
Claude Fremy was a bell-founder, cannon-maker and medallist from Amsterodam.

Renovation of a turret Clock in Vanovice
A horologeur Mr. Skála (L. Hainz) restored a tower clock in Vanovice in 2010.
The Clock has 3-6-9-12 dial. According to TV nobody in Vanovice remember the Clock ever showing the correct time.
However a regional monthly found a few elders remembering the clock running order sometimes after WWII.
The remarkable Clock is the national monument belonging to one of the largest non-Catholic church in Moravia, permitted building by Kaiser in 1782, completed in 1844.
Funds were raised to renovate heavily corroded, hour striking, three side by side trains, turret size, cast iron Clock.
The Clock is out of order from 2018.
